The International Violin Competition of Mittenwald is held every 4 years in June. Mittenwald looks back at a long tradition of violin making and organized the competition for the first time in 1989. At the Mittenwald’s violin making competition, a jury of ten assesses the best violins, violas, cellos and bows, which must have been produced within the previous two years. Imitations and instruments that differ from the usual craftsman rules may not be submitted.
